The Final of the Winter Greensomes was held at Burnham Beeches Golf Club on 17th April 2025 and was competed for between Amy Watters and Sue Cooke of Harleyford GC and Heather Pentney and Julie Gwyther of Harewood Downs GC. Amy and Sue were giving 3 shots to Heather and Julie. The weather was warm and sunny with light winds.

Amy and Sue got off to a strong start, winning the first two holes. On the 3rd Amy & Sue found a bunker and Heather and Julie capitalised on this bring the match to 1up. The match stayed 1up to Amy and Sue until the 7th when Heather and Julie found a bunker. After the 7th Heather and Julie had a purple patch, winning the 8th & 9th holes to level the match. On the long 11th Heather & Julie found the green before their opponents and went 1 up for the first time. This was however, short lived and the match was again All Square after the 12th. The 13th which is a Par 3 guarded by bunkers, was again halved with the match staying All Square. On the 14th which is the final shot hole, Heather & Julie found trouble in the rough and conceded the hole. The match finished on the 16th with Amy and Sue 3 up with 2 to play.

The match was played in a very friendly spirit and we really want to thank Burnham Beeches GC for their generous hospitality and kindness and the delicious cake served in the clubhouse after the match. Our thanks also go to Rosemary de Lacy, our Referee and our President, Maura Spencer our principal guest, and to Sue Harrison, Ladies Club Captain at Burnham Beeches for presenting the prizes.
