Knockout Greensomes handicap run in the Summer Months for any pair who both play at a Buckinghamshire club. It need not be the same club.

Summer Greensomes - 2023

Mo Dawson & Bernie Howe (Buckingham GC)

The Summer Greensomes final between Mo Dawson & Bernie Howe from Buckingham GC and Sarah Hocking & Pat Elwell from Harleyford GC took place on a mild autumn day at Beaconsfield GC on 11 October 2023.

Mo & Bernie were giving 13 shots and it was nip and tuck for the first few holes before they managed to pull ahead, chipping in from off the green on the 8th and going 4 up on the 10th. However, Sarah & Pat never gave up and taking advantage of their shots, they managed to pull it back to all square by the 15th including hitting the pin with their approach shot on the 11th. The Buckingham pair then holed a long putt on the 16th and managed to hang on to emerge victorious on the final hole. The closely contested match was played in good spirit and my thanks go to Rosemary de Lacy for acting as referee.

Players, officials and supporters then sat down to a lovely afternoon tea of sandwiches and cakes followed by the presentation of the prizes and cup to the winners by Janet Beal (immediate past county captain).

Thanks go to the staff of Beaconsfield GC for hosting the final and their generous hospitality.
