Junior Safeguarding

At BCLGA we want to ensure that you have a fun, safe and positive experience when you play golf.  We have implemented the policies and procedures recommended by England Golf and we are SafeGolf accredited.

Any queries should be referred to the BCLGA Welfare Officer,  Pam Munday-Cripps (Ellesborough).

What is a Welfare Officer ?

A Welfare Officer is a person within every organisation who will be available to listen to any concerns or complaints that anybody may have if worried about how a child is being treated physically or mentally. They are not there to investigate or judge, simply to ensure that the appropriate next step is made to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the junior in question.

Who can talk to a Welfare Officer?

  • A child/junior golfer -if you don’t feel safe in any way at all.
  • A parent/guardian – if you have any concern regarding your child or another child in any BWG/BGG or Berkshire Golf Club event.
  • A coach – if you are worried about the wellbeing of a junior golfer under your coaching care.
  • A volunteer – if you have any concerns about the wellbeing of a junior golfer attending events.
