Champion of Champions - 2024

The Final of Champion of Champions was held at Harleyford Golf Club on 12th August 2024 and was competed for between Amelia Curtis of The Lambourne GC and Ella Butteriss of Beaconsfield GC. The weather was hot and sunny with very little wind.

Ella got off to a good start, winning the 1st hole with a birdie 3 and then went 2 up on the 5th.

The par 5 7th was won with an eagle 3 by Amelia who then birdied the 8th to bring the match all square.

Ella birdied the 10th to go 1 up again which was countered by Amelia on the 12th bringing the match to all square once more. Amelia won the 14th in style by driving the green – 307 yards from the tee! Amelia then went 2 up on the 16th with another fine tee shot which almost went in for 1. The 17th hole was halved giving Amelia the win – 2&1.

The match was played in an extremely friendly spirit and we want to extend our thanks to Harleyford GC for their generous hospitality and kindness and a beautifully presented Tea. Ruth Lambert was the match referee and we thank Amy Watters from Harleyford who acted as match starter and also presented the trophy to the winner.
