Midlands South Team Stableford

The Midlands South Junior Team Stableford was held on Wednesday 6th August at Chiltern Forest Golf Club.

This is a competition for a team from each of the Midlands South counties - Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire & Herefordshire .

Each team consists of 6 girls, who play an 18 hole stableford competition. The aggregate of the best four scores from each county is used to determine the wining county.

Firstly a huge Thank You to Chiltern Forest for all their help and support in running the competition. Lots of members came out and looked after the girls, providing starters, ball spotters and walkers to help guide the girls around the course. Special thanks to Annette for organising all the members. Also many thanks to the pro shop, catering and bar staff for looking after us all, and to the greenkeepers for prosenting their course in excellent condition.

Thanks also to the walkers from the various counties who guided groups up and down hills around the course.

It was a lovely sunny day with a light breeze, so perfect golfing weather. The course is quite tricky and I think the scores reflect the difficulty of lots of slopes and very small greens, but all the girls came in with big smiles and said they had enjoyed the course.

Special thanks to Delyth Barnett for doing a great job in checking cards and helping get all the scores sorted out.

Also thanks to our new county captain, Lois Shoosmith, for coming to present the prizes.

Well done to the Buckinghamshire team, who came second.
