Charity Lunch 2026

The 49th Annual County Lunch took place at Ellesborough Golf Club on 4th March this year.

57 ladies from 11 different clubs attended.

The lunch was enjoyed by everyone. Good food, good company, meeting old and making new friends.

We were entertained by a speaker. The subject was “English as she spoke”. This was a gallop through the history of English and a look at the origins of words and how a foreigner struggles with spellings and sayings. One comment after the lunch was who would think a talk on English could be made so interesting.

The Raffle and Silent Auction of 4 balls raised £2,967 in aid of the Captain’s Charity, The British Heart Foundation and County Match Week.

Thank you to everyone who made the lunch such a success, and I hope you enjoy your 4 ball rounds of golf.
