Rose Bowl - 2023

Libby Koivio (Buckingham GC)

The Rose Bowl Final was played at Beaconsfield GC on 11 October 2023 between Libby Koivio from Buckingham GC and Kathy McKinlay-Aris from Burnham Beeches GC. The referee for the match was Janet Beal. Libby was giving Kathy 2 shots.

The first few holes were closely fought with Libby taking the lead three times only for Kathy to pull it back to all square each time and after 9 holes there was nothing much between the players with Libby turning 1 up. However, from the 10th Libby seemed to find another gear and won 4 holes in succession to go 5up with 6 to play. Kathy then won the 14th but Libby won the 15th with a nice par and with that she also won the match 5&3.

Players, caddies and officials then sat down to a lovely afternoon tea of sandwiches and cakes following which the prizes and the trophy were presented by Janet Beal (immediate past county captain).
