In the match play rounds we had some really close games but our eventual winner and County Champion was our Junior Captain, Evie Ing. Evie beat Denise Goodacre in a very close match eventually winning on the 18th hole. My congratulations to everyone who qualified and thanks to everyone who took part.
Following the prize giving the 12 County Squad members were announced. Full information and results of the Championships and the County Squad are on the website.
The 12 players named for the County squad now have to prepare for the Midlands South County Match Week that is being hosted by Bucks and played at Mentmore from the 18th to 22nd of June. This is a very prestigious event for us to host and we will need lots of help from our County members, so please do offer your assistance when asked by your County Delegate. For those who can’t help but can come along and watch we would welcome your support, and of course you will see some superb golf from the 6 Counties that are competing. Remember to wear red!
Of course there are lots of other County competitions going ahead with the Summer K/Os and Leagues so I hope you are managing to get out and play despite the appalling weather we are experiencing. I wish you all the very best in your matches.
