Buckinghamshire County Ladies Golf Association

County Strategy

Following discussion with Delegates during 2019, the Executive Committee developed a fist iteration Business Plan that set out the goals for the Association, and specific targets for 2020-2023.  This can  be found here

During 2023 the County commissioned a county-wide Member and Club survey, conducted regular engagement with its County Delegates and successfully signed up to the Women's in Golf (WIG) Charter in March 2023. External factors were also considered, such as the continuing decline of Women's & Girls participation in Club golf, the emergence of the  independent golfer, and recent decisions about the future of Women's Major County Competitions by England Golf.  In the light of these societal and golfing changes posing a set of new strategic challenges to the County, we updated our SWOTs (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) underpinning our Strategy. The Executive decided to amalgamate the strategic objectives of the long-term business plan with the Women in Golf Charter Commitments. During the winter of 2024/25 the Executive reviewed and updated the business plan & the WIG Charter commitments into a combined document, outlining both long-term and short-term objectives for the 2024-2026 period.

The full Business Plan can be accessed though here.

There are 17 Priorities for Action set by the Executive Committee for 2024. These are set out in Section 6 of the Business Plan. Progress on these targets will be reported to the Delegates meetings in June and September and to the memberhsip as a whole at the AGM.
