Interclub Foursomes 2023
The Interclub Foursomes was held at Ellesborough Golf Club on 10 October 2023. After days of sunshine, most of us travelled to Ellesborough Golf Club in heavy fog which gradually cleared and the first game fortunately started in sunshine. This year, 56 ladies participated in the Competition, representing 14 different Clubs.
The winners on the day were Ellesborough Golf Club scoring a combined nett team score of 139. The players representing Ellesborough were Cathy Armstrong, Janet Pusey, Alex Camp and June Winter.
The runners-up were Harleyford Golf Club with a nett team score of 146. The players representing Harleyford were Esther Morley, Amy Watters, Liz Clegg and Suse Muir-Browne.
The best pair on the day were Gillian Warner and Marketa Oherova from Chiltern Forest Golf Club who had a nett score of 70, achieving an eagle 2 at the 11th Par 4 Hole.
A special thank you to June Winter Lady Captain of Ellesborough Golf Club who provided much support leading up to the Competition and to the team of ladies from Ellesborough who volunteered to ball-spot throughout the Competition.
As always, the Club’s hosting and hospitality was of a very high standard and our thanks go to Ellesborough Golf Club’s Club Manager, the Green Keeper and Catering Manager for the warm and very special effort they made on the County’s behalf.
Thanks also to Janet Beal and Jackie Maher for their help and support on the day as our starters, as well as assisting with the scorecards, and also a further thanks to Janet Beal who was our referee support for the day.
