Spring Meeting 2009

Richings Park Golf Club

Thursday 9th April 2009

Spring Meeting Winner
Winner of the Spring Salver (donated by the Etheridge family):-
                       Charlotte West from Ellesborough

On a dull and drizzly day, a pleasing turnout of 31 girls travelled from all corners of the county to play at Richings Park Golf Club. They were competing in the Bucks Junior Girls' Spring Meeting playing for the Spring Salver which was donated by the Etheridge family.

Richings Park is a challenging parkland course with much water, which many of the girls found tricky and several balls were lost. Alice Richards made eagle on the par 5 3rd where she holed out from a bunker while Evie Ing finished with a birdie, birdie, par. Zoe Fitz-Costa was introduced as the Junior County Captain and handed out Easter eggs to all the girls.

9 hole competition:
1st     Meghan Gargano  22 stableford pts
2nd    Molly Kelleher    20 stableford pts

2nd   Lucy Matthews   40 stableford pts

Well done to Charlotte West who parred many holes and played beautiful golf. Charlotte commented that there were loads of bunkers which she didn't find too difficult and was getting on some of the greens in regulation.
There were many helpers on the day. Jen Marshall, County President, was there to support the girls and Sue Beresford, County Captain, presented all the prizes. Many thanks to Debbie Fitz-Costa and Jane Etheridge for organising this competition. A huge thank you to Debbie Fitz-Costa and Karen Burrows for running the competition and to Sue McKeon who was of great help to both.

Thank you very much to Helen Magowan (Lady Captain) and Virginia Roach (Vice Captain) from Richings Park, and all the parent helpers and walkers who contributed in making this competition a very successful event.
