BUCKS/BERKS v MIDDX/HERTS  -  16 October

Left to Right: Chloe Lipton, Joanna Jones, Louise Bowen, Annabel Dimmock,
Alice Kozlowski, Megan Lance, Lucy Matthews, Charlotte Nutt.

Middlesex hosted our annual friendly match at Northwood Golf Club.

Northwood Golf Club an old established parkland course is quite tight with a stream weaving its way through most of the course. The final result didn't dampen the spirits of the girls and was a good learning experience as it was the first time many had played foursomes.  Chloe Lipton ( Beaconsfield ) and Joanna Jones ( Burnham Beaches ) played their first county match. Berkshire were 2 players short and Annabel Dimmock and Charlotte Nutt played as short notice replacements.

RESULT: Bucks & Berks 1 - Middx & Herts 5

BB&O GIRLS v BB&O BOYS  -  10 October

The 2 lowest handicap girls from Bucks, Berks and Oxfordshire played in the annual triangular match against the U14 BB&O Boys and U16 BB&O Boys at Gerrards Cross GC on Sunday 10th October.

Annabel and Evie went out in the first two groups being the lowest handicappers amongst the girls team. They both played well considering the boys could hit the ball miles! and both won 1 and lost 1 match.

1st   U16 BB&O Boys
2nd  BB&O Girls
3rd   U14 BB&O Boys

Many thanks to BB&O who kindly paid for the catering, Organiser Jan Hubrecht and Gerrards Cross Golf Club for an enjoyable day.

Junior Girls v Middx  -  29 September

It was our turn to host our annual friendly match with Middlesex at Denham GC. We were greeted by Head Professional Stuart Cambell who always shows a keen interest in junior golf.
The format was 7 singles matches. Amanda McCallum the Denham Ladies' Centenary Captain started the girls off. With a cold wind blowing across from the neighbouring aerodrome and fast greens the conditions were quite difficult but despite this some good golf was played.
Three Bucks girls played their first county match Natalie King, Katie Porter and Eleanor Szczerbiak.

RESULT: Bucks Girls 3½ - Middlesex 3½

Many thanks to Amanda McCallum, James Tucker(Secretary) Stuart Campbell, Maureen MacCaskill,  Anne Koychev(Middx) and Olga O'Keefe (catering) for an enjoyable day.

Junior Girls v Beaconsfield Boys  - 12 August

Our annual fixture against the Beaconsfield Boys was played in heavy rain.  The pairings were Katy Lane (Captain) and Megan Gargano,   Alice Kozlowski and Joanna Richards, Lucy Matthews and Jade Pallister.   Unfortunately the boys won 2½ - ½ with Lucy and Jade all square on the 18th. This match was a good opportunity for our younger players to gain matchplay experience, with Jade and Megan making their first appearance for the county.

RESULT: Beaconsfield Boys 2½ - Bucks Girls ½

Junior Girls v Oxfordshire
- 27 June

Our annual Junior match against Oxfordshire was played at Waterstock Golf Club, on one of the hottest days of the year.  Our girls played some excellent golf particularly Charlotte West captaining our team, winning her match giving 17 shots!

Molly Kelleher, Anna Carter-Roberts, Joanna Richards and Louise Bowan all made impressive first appearances for the county.

Our three girls nominated to play in the qualifying matches towards the Midland South Finals all won. Bucks 16-36 handicappers progress to Midland South Girls Team Finals, 3rd October, Gaudet Luce GC, Worcestershire.

RESULT:  Oxfordshire 1½   Bucks Girls 5½

Junior Girls v Berkshire
- 2 May

The Buckinghamshire Girls played their annual fixture against Berkshire at Maidenhead Golf Club. The Bucks team were greeted by assistant professional Vicki Harris, a former Bucks Junior. Vicki gave them some useful information about the parkland course.

The weather stayed dry but there was a biting wind. 12 year old Emma Norris made a very impressive debut for the county, with a great up and down for par to secure victory in her match on the 13th.

Annabel Dimmock and Megan Lance also won their matches on the 13th. Charlotte West came from 2 down to win her match on the 18th. Lucy Matthews won her last hole to halve her match in front of a big crowd of players, parents and county officials.

Margaret Maisey (County President) and Anne Bridges (Junior Training Officer) were very encouraging walking the course. The team spirit was very good; as soon as the girls finished their matches they went back onto the course to support their team.

It was delightful to see such young golfers plotting their way around the course with their planners, playing great golf in a good spirit.

RESULT:  Bucks Girls 5½   Berks 1½
