The Membership Secretary, Sue Lee, was pleased to announce at the Delegates' Meeting, held at Gerrards Cross Golf Club on Wednesday 17th. March, that the number of Full Members of the County now totals 1200, an increase of more than 25 from last year. Well done to Beaconsfield Golf Club who has the greatest number of members, an impressive 100. The Club with the largest number of new members, 17, is Mentmore (which is, by pure co-incidence, the Club of our Membership Secretary!) with Gerrards Cross next with 11 new members.

The number of ladies who are affiliated to the County through the Capitation Fee that is paid via the Clubs, stands at 3,200.

For details of County Membership go to the "Membership of the County Association" Page in the "News" Section.

Maria Brown and Sue McEntee of Burnham Beeches and Diane Wilson and Carol Ritchie of Denham contested the Final of the Winter Foursomes knock-out competition at Gerrards Cross on Thursday 11th. March. The Denham pair started extremely well and were 3 Up after 4 holes. The Burnham pair fought back to All Square at the turn and from there, there was never more than one hole in it. At 1 Up starting the 18th. Maria and Sue were able to hold their nerve to halve the 18th. with a par, thus taking the trophy with a 1 Up victory. Thanks to the supporters who turned out in the cold to make an occasion of it and to both pairs for an enjoyable match played in great spirit.

Another enjoyable County Lunch was hosted by Woburn Golf Club on Wednesday, 28th. January. 180 ladies from across the County were in attendance. John Stirling (PGA Captain 1989 and National Coach to the English Golf Union 1986-1995) was the guest speaker who gave a very amusing post lunch speech. Unfortunately that afternoon was when the infamous blizzard swept across the region. It is hoped that everyone returned home without too many problems.

Broadband is due to reach the village of Great Brickhill, the home of the website, in the Spring. It is hoped that this will eliminate some of the technical problems that have been experienced with the running of the site and should faciltate improvements being made.
