County Lunch 2022

The County Lunch was held on Wednesday 9th March at Beaconsfield Golf Club.  We originally had 82 ladies attending, but there were a number of late withdrawals so we had 76 ladies attending the lunch.

Janet Beal, County Captain, was one late drop out, testing positive for Covid the day before the lunch.  Thanks very much to Helen Mines, who organised the lunch, and the rest of the County Exec, who all stepped in and ran a very successful event.

Sandy Briscoe came to give a short talk about the work of Carers Bucks, and we had a raffle and silent auction for 4 ball vouches to raise money for the charity.

Thanks to all the ladies sections who donated raffle prizes and the clubs who donated 4 ball vouchers for the silent auction.

I am pleased to report that we raised a total of ¬£2464 at the lunch, which will all go to Carers Bucks.  Thanks to everyone for their generosity.

A number of photos from the day can be seen below.

County Lunch 2020

83 ladies signed up for the County Lunch on Wednesday 4th March, which was held for the second year running at Gerrards Cross Golf Club.

A few unfortunately could not make it at the last minute due to illness, but we little knew then that all our lives and social interaction would be so affected as it has been this year.

The Lunch was a lovely friendly occasion, good fellowship and food, raffle prizes galore and some excellent 4 ball vouchers to bid for.

Overall the Lunch raised about £2,000 and I am very grateful to all the contributions made by your clubs and ladies' sections to the 4 ball vouchers' auction and raffle prize table. This income will be split 50/50 between my charities (Thames Valley Air Ambulance) and Workaid, and our expenses for County Match Week/National Finals.

October update - Both County Match Week in June and the National Festival of Women's Golf that was planned by England Golf to replace the National Team Finals in September were cancelled. The funds raised at the County Lunch will be carried forward towards the 2021 CMW and NF expenses.
