The annual Lady / Junior competition for the Karchargis trophies was played on The Rothschild Course at Mentmore on Wednesday 31st August. The event takes the form of a Greensomes Stableford competition played over 18 holes with a lady and a junior in each pairing. Twenty three pairs from six different clubs took part.
The course was in great condition and the weather was good, which lead to some excellent scores. The winners of the Karchargis trophies were Phillipa Cook and Shamiso Hatchard from Woburn, who had previously won the event in 2009.
Thanks go to Mentmore for hosting the event, so soon after they had held the English Girls' Under 13 & Under 15 Championships, and also to the Lady Captain of Mentmore, Carolyn McKewan, for acting as Starter. Special thanks go to Sandra Ing for her efforts in ensuring that the day ran smoothly.
