BUCKS. JUNIORS SHARE SOUTH EAST TROPHY

The Bucks. Junior Team played their South East Division Final against Sussex on Sunday 14th. October at Romford Golf Club, Essex. On a fantastic autumn afternoon they played some fantastic golf to halve the match with Sussex, 3½ - 3½. Well done to Natalie Robinson who came from 4 behind - she held her nerve to hole the putt on the 18th. giving the team the win required to share the trophy.

AUTUMN MEETING, WESTON TURVILLE

The Autumn Meeting was held on Sunday 23rd. September at Weston Turville. 19 girls competed for the Barbara Pratt Trophy and 3 played 9 holes. Well done to the winner with 42 points, Tanyar Kumar.

JUNIOR CAPTAINS FOR 2008

Congratulations to:
Victoria Collis (Beaconsfield) & Steph Gough (Ellesborough)
who have been appointed as Joint Junior Captains for next year. They will take over from Harriet Beasley on 1st. January 2008.

DRUMMONDS WIN KARCHARGIS TROPHY

The mother and daughter combination of Liz and Rachel Drummond won the Lady / Junior Competition held at Burnham Beeches on Friday 31st. August. 28 pairs from 11 clubs played in the Greensomes Stableford for the Karchargis Trophy. Liz and Rachel (Beaconsfield) scored a superb 45 points, followed by Sue Clutterbuck and Megan Lance (Ellesborough) with 41 points on count back from Lina McKenna and Victoria Bryan (Chartridge Park).

BUCKS. WIN JUNIOR COUNTY WEEK

Congratulations to the Bucks. Junior Team on winning this year's Junior County Week. Oxfordshire hosted the event at Hadden Hill Golf Club, near Didcot from 13th. to 15th. August. The team now go on to play in the South East Division Final on Sunday 14th. October at North Waeld Golf Club in Essex - more details to follow.

Overall Positions: 1st. - Bucks. 18½; 2nd. - Herts. 17½; 3rd. - Hants. 16

VICTORIA WHITTAKER HOLE-IN-ONE

Well done to Victoria Whittaker who scored a hole-in -one during a Junior County match against Berkshire on 10th. June. The ace came at the 8th. hole at Flackwell Heath and was witnessed by County Captain, Carolyn Howell. Victoria's grandfather (a longstanding member of Flackwell Heath for the past 46 years) was there to enjoy the occasion. Unphased by the experience Victoria went on to win her match, which helped the Bucks. team to a 4 - 2 victory.

KATIE BARBOUR-SMITH WINS TIDDLERS' TROPHY

The Pre-Handicap Championship for the Tiddlers' Trophy was held on Friday 1st. June at Aylesbury Park on the Par 3 Course. Well done to the winner Katie Barbour-Smith.

JESS BURROWS - COUNTY JUNIOR CHAMPION

Thirty five girls entered the County Junior Championships, which were held at Lambourne G.C. on Friday 13th. April. Jess Burrows (Ellesborough) scored a Gross 81 to take the title from Rachel Drummond (Beaconsfield) and Steph Gough (Ellesborough) who both scored a Gross 83. The Handicap Trophy was won by Natalie Robinson (Ellesborough) with a Nett 75 from Zoe Fitz-Costa (Beaconsfield) with a Nett 76. The Stableford Prize (for those with a handicap of 20 plus) was won by Livvie Thompson with 41 points, from Claudia Beasley (Woburn) with 39 points.
The Intermediate Trophy was won by Nicole Whitmore (Woburn) with a fantastic score, Gross 75.

GILL BATCHELOR AWARD

The Gill Batchelor Trophy was awarded at the conclusion of the Junior Championships to Evie Ing from Ellesborough. The Achievement Trophy is awarded for the best new handicap in 2006:-

B.C.L.G.A. KEY RINGS

At the Prize Presentation at the Junior Championships, B.C.L.G.A. Key Rings were awarded to three of the Juniors for services to the County and playing in Junior County Week:- Victoria Collis, Natalie Robinson and Zoe Fitz-Costa.
Congratulations to them all!

BB&O JUNIOR GIRLS' CHAMPIONSHIP

The BB&O Junior Girls' Championships, hosted this year by Berks., took place at Maidenhead Golf Club, on Thursday 5th. April. This year's Champion was Katherine O'Connor from Tadmarton Heath, who shot a one-over par 71. Well done to Megan McDonald from Bucks. on winning the Stableford Competition with 42 points.

B.C.L.G.A. JUNIOR COMMITTEE NEWS

The role of Treasurer on the Junior Committee has been taken on by Alex Camp (Chartridge Park). The Executive wishes Alex well in her new role and hopes that she enjoys the rewarding task of being involved with the Juniors. Many thanks to her predecessor, Gill Goslett, for all the work that she has done over a number of years.
There is however an urgent need for someone to take on the role of C.J.O. (County Junior Organiser) - this role is at present being carried out by Carolyn Howell, in addition to her duties as County Captain. To find out more about this vacant position

Entry forms and details for the Junior competitions being held during the Easter holidays can be found in the "Junior Entry Forms 2007" Section:
- BB&O Junior Girls' Championships on Thursday 5th. April at Maidenhead (closing date for entries: Thursday 22nd. March).
- Bucks. County Junior Championships on Friday 14th. April at Lambourne (closing date for entries: Friday 30th. March).
- Intermediates' Trophy (for 18-25 year olds) at the above Junior County Champs.
- Spring Stableford on Monday 2nd. April at Wycombe Heights (9 or 18 holes). Closing date: Monday 20th. March.

THE FIRST JUNIOR MATCH OF 2007
