JUNIOR GIRLS v BERKSHIRE   14 August  -  Gerrards Cross

Buckinghamshire played the second of the friendly league matches at Gerrards Cross on Thursday 14th August.
Unfortunately the Berks girls proved too strong for our team and Berkshire won by 61/2 to 1/2. We had 7 girls in the team, a mix of experience and those girls new to matchplay.
This means that Berkshire have qualified to go forward to the Midlands South Team matchplay handicap finals.
Thanks to all the girls who braved the rain to turn out for Bucks.
Georgina Bowers (captain) Daisy Kennedy, Jess Harrow, Rhiannon Randall, Eleanor Barnett, Alison Strange, Georgia McCormick

JUNIOR GIRLS v BEACONSFIELD BOYS  -  4 August  - Beaconsfield

The Buckinghamshire girls team played their annual match against Beaconsfield Boys at Beaconsfield golf Club on the 4th August. The weather stayed dry this year and the course was in great condition. The match was played as three 4 ball better ball matches off handicap. We had a strong team and the girls played some very good golf. Unfortunately, the Boys played even better and won the match 3-0. The team were Alice Kozlowski and Megan Dennis, Beth Scott and Lucy Matthews, Holly Impey and Thalia Kirby.

Many thanks to all who took part.

JUNIOR GIRLS v OXON   21 June  -  Tadmarton Heath

In the annual league match against Oxfordshire the team of 6 girls did brilliantly well to win 5 out of the 6 matches.  Congratulations to the team of Ellie Sczerbiak, Shannon Holt, Eleanor Barnett, Molly Kelleher, Francesca Leach, Georgia Staroscik.  If Bucks do as well against Berks in the next league match they will qualify for the MS team matchplay finals in September.

The Juniors v Woburn Boys
The Junior Girls at their first match of the year against the Woburn Boys

The first match of the year for the Junior Girls' team was during half term week on Monday 17th February against the Woburn boys.  The match was played on the Dukes course, which was in very good condition despite the enormous amount of rain that had fallen over recent weeks.

The match was played as three four ball better ball matches off handicap, although there were very few shots difference in the teams.  The boys had an advantage in the Yellow tees having been moved considerably further forward than normal, while the course from the normal Red tees for the girls was playing all of its 6060 yards.

The games were played in great spirit on a dry but cold day. The first match to finish went to the boys, but then Alice and Charlotte won their match 3 & 2.  The overall result hung in the balance, until the boys won the third match on the seventeenth hole.

Thanks go to Woburn for their hospitality and to their Junior Organiser, Sue Ashworth who made all the arrangements for the day to run so successfully.

The Four Ball Better Ball pairings were:-

Alice Kozlowski & Charlotte West - Won
Luan Skeates & Megan Dennis - Lost
Emma Norris & Lucy Matthews - Lost

RESULT:  Bucks Girls 1  Woburn Boys 2
