The BCLGA Executive Committee prepare for the start of the Annual Meeting

The 2012 BCLGA Annual Meeting was held on Wednesday 24th October at Harleyford Golf Club. A welcome address by the President, Carol Ritchie, was followed by the annual presentation of the trophies.

The Cygnet and Eclectic Cup Winners:

Winners of the Cygnet Trophy (left) Stoke Park and the Charity Eclectic Cup, Beaconsfield

The Cygnet Trophy is a club stableford competition with the proceeds going towards the County Junior funds - a total of £1025 was raised. Stoke Park won the trophy on count back from last year's winners, Mentmore.

The Charity Eclectic Cup is held in aid of the Captain's Charity - £2088.80 was raised. Beaconsfield won the trophy with a net score below standard scratch 102.5.

Corontation Medals:

The Coronation Medals were awarded to the players with the lowest aggregate score of 4 medals from the previous twelve months:-
Gross: Rachel Drummond (Beaconsfield) Score: -12
Nett: Olivia Freer (Huntswood) Score: -23

Sue Lee, the retiring County Captain, and members of the Executive gave their reports for the year. The Treasurer, Pia Davis then presented the Accounts for the last twelve months. These reports are contained within the Minutes and can be on the website in the "Archive Articles" section.

Monday - Friday 17th - 21st June:  County Match Week, Frilford Heath G.C.
Wednesday 3rd July:  Summer Meeting, Beaconsfield G.C.
Tuesday 27th August:  Bucks Shield Finals, The Buckinghamshire G.C.
Wednesday 18th September: Seniors’ Autumn Meeting,  Oakland Park G.C.
Thursday 10th October:  Interclub Foursomes, Lambourne G.C.
Wednesday 23rd October:  AGM, Harleyford G.C.

Over £6,412 has been paid to the Captain's Charity (Dreamflight) over the last two years.
The Capitation Fee for next year will remain at £5.50


The following members of the Executive were standing down:

Anne Bridges - Training Officer
Linda Hylton - Secretary (retired during the year)

The following members were elected:
Honorary Secretary - Helen Mines (Ellesborough)
Training Officer - Cathy Armstrong (Ellesborough)
Joint Competitions Secretary (Leagues) - Sally Harborne

A late vacancy was caused due to the early retirement of Debbie Pollard-Barnes as Second Team Captain. Denise Goodacre (Lambourne) has been co-opted to fill the vacancy.

Presentations were made to the retiring members and a vote of thanks was given by Maura Spencer, Lady Captain of Lambourne.

Karen Platt gave a closing address as the incoming County Captain - Karen's chosen charity will be the Helen and Douglas House Hospice (link to their website can be found on the "Home" page).
