RACHEL GOODWIN WINS PLACE AT THE LEE WESTWOOD ACADEMY -  May

Rachel, from Harleyford has gained a place on the Lee Westwood Academy, having won the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Ladies Champion of Champions Trophy last year. This is what Rachel had to say after attending:-

"I really enjoyed myself even though it was one day. We arrived at 8:30am at the Warwickshire Golf Club and they spoke to use about what was going to happen over the 3 days. The first day we were practicing for our challenges which you got points from and the person with the highest points would win a round of golf with Lee Westwood, some custom made shoes and a driver. The challenges consisted of chipping, iron play, driving accuracy, putting etc.  This went on for most of the day, with a break for lunch.  I had a fantastic day, and wished I could have stayed for the whole 3 days.  I received a cap signed by Lee Westwood, and I have been old that I will be able to attend a full 3 day course at the Lee Westwood Academy in 2012, which is great".

ELITE JUNIOR SQUAD BEGIN NEW SEASON TRAINING

The Bucks Elite Juniors had the first training session in preparation for the coming season on Sunday.  We were delighted to hold this at Magnolia Park with the Par 3 course and practice chipping area providing a great opportunity to test the short game skills of the girls. The first part of the session began in  the damp and cold, but refreshed by hot chocolate we resumed in brighter and even sunny conditions. 14 of our top girls attended representing 7 different clubs.  Special thanks to 1st team members Clara Leathers and Tash Gough and President Margaret Maisey for helping on the day, and an extra special thanks to Pat Flynn of Magnolia Park for welcoming us and giving us the use of the facilities.
